BroadBand Security, Korea started the provision of “Smart SAQ Online,” the PCI DSS SAQ supporting service for the travel industry in Korea

Tokyo – May 31, 2018 – BroadBand Security Inc. (BBSec), a leading IT security service provider, announced today that BBSec Korea opened the “Smart SAQ Online,” the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) creation supporting portal site, and started its service in order to support the PCI DSS compliance in the travel industry in Korea.

<Background of this service provision>
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) promotes the travel agencies using the Global Distribution System (GDS), a worldwide computerized reservation and ticket issuance network, to be compliant against PCI DSS by the end of July 2018. BroadBand Security Inc. has collaborated with IATA and the Korean Association of Travel Agents (KATA) to have briefing session for over 640 Korean domestic travel agencies in order to explain the necessity of PCI DSS compliance and how to be compliant.
In the midst of such briefing, we found the request for the SAQ support service was extremely high. Thus we decided to release this service.

The feature of this service is described below:
- Addressing Hangeul letters for Korean companies
- Enabling receiving advice as necessary from a lot of Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) in BroadBand Security Inc.

We intend in future, to propagate this service for the use by the customers in broader business fields and m17n.

In the PCI DSS, the requirement level is classified according to the number of card transactions. For level 1 (L1), the greatest number of transaction, it is required to conduct on-site assessment every year. For level 2 (L2) and lower, the SAQ (Self-Assessment Questionnaire) can be used to be compliant.

“Smart SAQ Online” is now under patent pending for trademark registration by BroadBand Security, Inc. Company names and product names described are their trademarks and registered trademarks.
